Why?

This vigil was started on Friday 9th January, as part of the many protests against the war crimes and atrocities committed against Gaza. We are standing outside the Israeli embassy because it is the symbol of the Israeli military and their political masters. Come and join us by calling 020 8904 4222 or email a mesage of support for the blog to info@ihrc.org. Amongst the many supporters of the vigil are FOSIS (the Federation of Students' Islamic Societies) and IJAN (International Jewish Anti-Zionist Network).

Day 4, rush hour

Some brave men whilst driving past decided to swear at the Sister holding the vigil whilst the night shift went off to get a cup of tea. It happened twice, but the waves of support and the people coming up to commend the demonstrators was more than heartening. We added a few flags to the vigil and we get to look at the flag floating in the tree outside the Embassy, somehow placed at its very highest on Saturday during he main demonstration.

Although the weather is better than at the start, the night shift are still frozen at daybreak. Now its windy and raining - cold rain.

One lady approached Sahla whilst she was putting up a flag to say she prays for the Palestinians every day.
